Job details

Aventus Development Corp. is looking for an experienced Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our growing team. This is a new role with the opportunity to build and own our management reporting, budgeting and forecasting function from the ground up. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and teams across the business to understand what’s driving the numbers and provide meaningful financial insights to support decision-making. What You’ll Do: Build and own monthly management reporting, including consolidated financials, forecasts, variance analysis and KPIs. Lead the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes. Partner with business leaders to understand results, challenge assumptions and identify risks and opportunities. Track development project costs, budgets, cash flow and cost-to-complete. Prepare lender reporting, covenant calculations and compliance reporting. Help implement our new accounting system, building reporting and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual work. What You Bring: CFA or CPA designation, with 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 7+ years in real estate development and construction. Strong experience with financial reporting, FP&A, budgeting and consolidated financial statements across multiple entities. Solid understanding of development accounting, project budgets, cost-to-complete, lender reporting and covenant requirements. Proven ability to build management reporting, KPI dashboards and budgeting processes from the ground up. Advanced Excel skills with experience building structured, auditable financial models and scenario analyses. Strong communicator who can translate financial results into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and work effectively across the business. Experience with ERP reporting, FP&A tools, automation and/or Power BI is an asset. What Will Make You Successful: You take ownership and accountability and follow things through. You are a builder who enjoys creating reporting, processes and structure from the ground up. You dig into the numbers to understand the why, not just report the result. You are proactive, organized and comfortable working across teams to get the information you need. You look for opportunities to simplify, automate and continuously improve. You can translate complex financial information into clear insights leaders can act on. Aventus Development Corp. is a Burlington-based real estate development company with projects across Southern Ontario. We are a growing organization focused on the development of well-designed, modern communities in prime locations. Expected Salary: $140,000–$165,000 per year. The final salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. We offer extended health and dental benefits, along with an RRSP matching program. This posting represents an active vacancy. Aventus Development Corp. is an equal opportunity employer. Accommodation is available throughout the recruitment process upon request.
