The Business Development Associate plays a critical role in the companies revenue engine. You will be responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities for the Account Executive team by engaging construction professionals across Canada and the U.S. through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, events, and timely follow-up. This role requires a high-performance mindset, strong communication skills, resilience, discipline, and the ability to represent with professionalism and energy. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES As a Business Development Associate, you will be required to: Lead Generation & Outreach Conduct daily outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn messages, and other outreach sequences. Generate agreed upon monthly demo targets for the Account Executive team. Execute targeted prospecting into General Contractors, Subcontractors, Owners, Developers, and Consultants. Research accounts and identify key decision-makers and influencers. Spend a portion of your time actively on the phones functioning as a BDR, with time allocation increasing or decreasing based on performance and manager guidance. Sales Enablement & Operational Support Build, maintain, and optimize call lists, target account lists, and segmented outreach databases. Assist in creating Sales Process Automations using AI tools and SMARTBUILD’s internal systems. Support execution of sales campaigns including outbound sequences, nurture workflows, and multi-channel touches. Develop sales enablement content such as talk tracks, objection-handling scripts, and persona briefs. Provide analytics and insights to improve conversion rates and outbound efficiency. Pipeline & CRM Management Manage all activities through HubSpot CRM, ensuring accurate data, notes, and pipeline visibility. Track outreach volume, contact attempts, conversion metrics, and demo outcomes. Follow up on all inbound and marketing-generated leads in a timely manner. Sales Collaboration Work closely with Account Executives to ensure well-qualified handoffs. Participate in daily/weekly sales standups, training, and role plays. Support pre-demo qualification to ensure strong prospect alignment. Events & Representation Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and tradeshows as required. Assist in event follow-up campaigns and appointment setting. Professional Development Actively engage in coaching, skill-building, and ongoing training. Demonstrate continuous improvement in communication, objection handling, and product knowledge. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES** Support marketing campaigns by providing feedback from the field. Contribute to the growth of the company through internal collaboration and proactive participation. Engage with the company's online content when required(e.g., liking, sharing, commenting) following brand guidelines. Assist with special projects or corporate initiatives as needed. COMPENSATION OVERVIEW Base Salary Your base compensation will range from $50,000–$60,000 CAD, based on experience and performance during the interview process. Variable Compensation Your performance-based incentives include: - $100 per qualified and completed demo you generate. - $500 for each deal closed that originated from your sourced demo. - $1,000 monthly performance bonus if 10+ sourced deals close in that month. On-Target Earnings (OTE) With full attainment, your OTE could range between $75,000–$90,000 annually. All incentive payments are subject to applicable tax withholdings and are paid in accordance with company policy.
