Shunt Driver

Job summary

The Shunt Driver is responsible for managing trailer movements in the yard, monitoring live bird health, and ensuring compliance with HACCP and animal welfare standards. Additional duties include facility maintenance tasks such as washing trucks, snow removal, and lawn care.

Job details

Responsibilities included by not limited to: * Weighing all live trailers in before start of production and weighting out when empty. * Changing of trailers in live receiving bay in a timely and safe manner. * Monitoring health of live birds on site. * Maintaining the yard and keeping trailers organized. * Document HACCP monitoring for assigned records. * Communicate with management regarding any deviations found. * Understand and ensure all requirements of the Animal Welfare program are followed. * Washing down of trucks, as required. * Snow removal duties, as required * Lawn care duties, as required * Any other duties requested by Management Working Conditions: * Ability to work in varying temperatures and in damp wet conditions * Self-motivated and attention to detail * Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) * Physical requirements: standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending and lifting. Requirements * Valid AZ driver's license with a clean CVOR * 3 years of similar AZ driving experience * GMP, HACCP / Food Safety Training * Understanding of BRC and FSEP/HACCP Program considered an asset Compensation: * Wage and Performance review after successful completion of 90-day probationary period. Wage and performance will be reviewed annually. * Health care, LTD, Life Insurance following 90 day probationary period for yourself and eligible family members (Co-Paid) Work Location: * 4272 Concession Road 4 North, Amherstburg Ontario, N9V 2Y9 * Occasional visits to our Windsor location may be required

Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid AZ driver's license with a clean CVOR and at least 3 years of relevant driving experience. Knowledge of food safety programs like HACCP, BRC, and FSEP is required or considered a significant asset.
