Chest X-Ray Pneumonia Classification with Grad-CAM

Built and evaluated a MobileNetV2 transfer-learning classifier using fine-tuning and class weighting. Implemented Grad-CAM to visualize image regions influencing predictions and evaluated the model using accuracy, precision, recall, AUC, confusion matrix, and classification reports.

Achieved 91.51% accuracy, 90.80% precision, and 96.15% recall at a decision threshold of 0.85. The project strengthened my experience in deep learning, model evaluation, explainable AI, and medical image analysis.

Project

Retinal Vessel Segmentation with U-Net

Implemented image and mask preprocessing, trained a PyTorch U-Net model using combined BCE and Dice loss, evaluated segmentation performance with Dice score and IoU, and visualized predicted vessel masks.

Achieved a best validation Dice score of 0.7027 and a final validation IoU of 0.5390. The project strengthened my experience in PyTorch, biomedical image segmentation, model evaluation, and prediction visualization.

Image Processing: Edge Detection, Thresholding and Morphological Operations

Implemented grayscale conversion, normalization, Canny and Sobel edge detection, binary and adaptive thresholding, and morphological operations including erosion, dilation, opening, and closing using Python and OpenCV.

Strengthened practical experience in Python, OpenCV, image preprocessing, visualization, and computer vision workflows while building a flexible pipeline for user-provided images.
