Field Service Technician Full-time, Permanent Location: Remote –Victoria, BC (Candidates must live on the Island) Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM + Overtime- depends they can be on call: time and half Weekends: every 6 weeks Base Salary: $24 – $40.21/hour- this includes premiums Increase after 3 months. Overtime paid daily after 8 hours (1.5x for first 4 OT hours, 2x after that) Company Overview: Our client is a leading supplier of food industry equipment and service, offering systems for: Cooking, food prep, refrigeration, bakery Warewashing, waste, weighing, wrapping, labeling Perks & Benefits Full benefits (Dental/Vision) after 1 month Competitive group insurance Company vehicle provided Wellness & scholarship programs Pension plan with company match STD/LTD benefits Family-oriented work culture Laptop, cell phone, gas & mileage included 407 transponder (sales visits only) 2–3 weeks vacation Training reimbursement program Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, adjust, align, calibrate commercial kitchen equipment Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas systems Perform field service on-site Attend training programs as required Occasionally support in sales demos or contract acquisition Available for OT and on-call as needed Qualifications 3–5 years of hands-on technical service, maintenance or repair experience within commercial kitchen equipment, food-service equipment, appliance repair, electromechanical equipment or a closely related technical service environment. BC Class B or Class C Gas Fitter certification/ticket is mandatory. Previous experience servicing commercial kitchen equipment is highly desirable. Candidates with an Appliance Technician certification and strong experience working within a fast-paced appliance service or repair environment will also be considered. Strong hands-on troubleshooting capabilities involving electrical, mechanical, plumbing and gas systems. DEP in Electromechanics, or a diploma/certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, Appliance Service/Repair or a related technical discipline, is an asset. Equivalent hands-on technical experience will also be considered. Ability to diagnose equipment problems and perform repairs, adjustments, alignments and calibrations. Comfortable working independently and travelling throughout an assigned service territory. Strong customer-service, interpersonal and communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Valid driver's licence with an excellent driving record. Willing and able to travel for technical training as required. Available for overtime and participation in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

Candidates should have strong troubleshooting skills, a valid driver's licence and excellent driving record, customer-service and communication abilities, and availability for travel, overtime, and on-call rotation; relevant technical education is an asset.
