Categories: Clerical / Administration Location(s): Markdale Types: Full Time POSITION TITLE: OFFICE SERVICES COORDINATOR DEPARTMENT: BUSINESS OFFICE POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – CLERICAL STATUS: FULL-TIME REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT WAGE RATE: $29.237 – $32.224 Reporting to the Manager of Registration and Switchboard, the principle role of the Office Services Coordinator is to ensure that the Patient Experience including but not limited to – all registration, switchboard (where applicable), reception, scheduling (where applicable) and business functions – operate in a professional, prompt, accurate and courteous manner. Emphasis is on data quality and support to all hospital departments. Responsibilities include: lead role in site accounting functions including payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable (mix of duties may vary in each site); communication and interaction with hospital departments, patients, staff and business partners; general business office administration, staff scheduling, policy and procedure. The creation of, implementation, and participation in monthly planning and team meetings. The Office Services Coordinator provides support and direction to the Registration Staff/Patient Services Agents in all areas of their position – acts as a resource person for all hospital departments. Acts as a liaison with the Manager for their respective hospitals. Required Qualifications / Skills / Abilities: Completion of a College Business Diploma or equivalent Completion of or current enrollment in Leadership Essentials/Advanced courses at Brightshores Interest and willing to pursue the development of LEAD competencies Significant experience in the coordination of hospital business office functions Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as well as provincial and national health reporting guidelines Knowledge of accounting programs specifically HRCM Knowledge of and ability in the following competencies: customer service, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability/change management Computer skills, at the intermediate level; Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) – to be tested Demonstrated competencies in all Cerner products including but not limited to all Cerner PM applications, PM Office, ESM Scheduling, and First Net (to be tested) Demonstrated competencies in Surgi Net, HRCM, and 3M Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records Demonstrate, promote and encourage Brightshores’ values – We Show Up for Each Other, We Are Trusted to Act, We Create Solutions Together, We Strive for Better, We Share Accountability Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes Comply with all applicable health and safety policies, procedures and regulations, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment

Requirements

Requires a college business diploma or equivalent, significant experience coordinating hospital business office functions, and knowledge of accounting principles, health reporting guidelines, and HRCM. Candidates must demonstrate customer service and communication competencies, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, and competency with Cerner products, SurgiNet, HRCM, and 3M; leadership course completion or current enrollment is also required.
