We are seeking an energetic and proactive Project Manager in Training, Foundations GTA, responsible for assisting to manage stages of Construction from excavation to backfill as well as grading, sodding and exterior completion. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in residential construction leadership. Similar to a Site Superintendent role, you'll be actively involved in coordinating construction activities, supporting trades, maintaining quality and safety standards, and keeping projects moving forward. Industry Leading Wages Annual Paid Operations Shutdown (in addition to Paid Vacation Days) Complimentary Daily Lunch Program Vehicle Allowance Safety Boot Allowance Company-Paid Health & Dental Coverage Coordinating Benefits Life Insurance where applicable Group Benefits & Perks (including Goodlife & Bell Mobile) Use of ADP (HR Portal) – easily access your employee information, paystubs & schedule time off Bi-Weekly Payments directly to your bank account You will Bring * University Degree or College Diploma related to Construction or a similar field * 5-7 years of experience in a technical role * Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and Health and Safety Regulations * Access to a reliable vehicle & a G Class license Exceptional Skills Required * Analytical and detail-oriented, with a keen focus on producing accurate and high caliber work * Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills * Self-motivated and excels both in a Team and independently * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail * The ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines * A willingness to support the Team as required, and work in a collaborative manner * The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment Responsibilities * Assist the Foundations Manager in managing the construction stages of excavation, forming of foundations, grading, and sodding * Assist the Foundations Manager with coordinating hydro and gas laterals * Assist the Foundations Manager in ensuring Trade Partners are adhering to Caivan Foundation details and cut sheets * Responsible to check the quality of excavation, footings, and foundation walls on a regular basis, and take corrective action where necessary * Responsible for coordinating Engineer and City Inspections in relation to footing and backfill inspections * Responsible for managing the Winter heat program such as propane, propane heaters, gas heaters and straw * Understanding of special soil conditions such as base conditions and ensure it is dealt with appropriately and that the Land Development Department is aware * Accountable for ensuring all frost protection measures take place in the Winter season * Assist the Foundations Manager in coordinating driveway paving, sidewalks & curbs, and ensuring all water boxes are working properly * Responsible for ensuring all street furniture is protected, including catch basins, fire hydrants, transformer boxes, and gas valves * Assist the Foundations Manager in coordinating street sweeping, street flushing and snow plowing * Provide input to applicable contracts including all in excavation, foundation, UG plumbing, UG electrical, street sweeping, snow clearing and driveway contracting tenders * Inspect the work site continuously to ensure all employees and trades partners abide by the Ministry of Ontario Labour Regulations and Caivan’s Health & Safety Policies * Assist the Foundation Manager in managing the backhoe operators * Perform other duties as needed Working Conditions * Majority of time is spent on construction sites * Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and priorities * Work may involve exposure to weather, noise, dust, and high-risk activities * PPE (hard hat, hi-vis & steel toes boots) is required at all times in field settings * Physically able to work in all weather conditions * Ability to travel to different projects throughout the GTA We carefully review all applications and will contact candidates whose skills, experience, and qualifications most closely align with the requirements of the position.
