Material Shipping & Receiving Coordinator Location: Stratford, ON Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Pay: $25–$27 per hour Shift: Day Shift Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on Material Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join a manufacturing team in Stratford, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are properly organized and available to support production. This role is ideal for someone with experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control within a manufacturing or industrial environment. We are looking for a proactive individual who takes ownership of their work, solves problems independently, and can serve as a key point of contact for material-related activities on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities: Shipping & Receiving Receive incoming steel, purchased components, and other production materials. Verify quantities, dimensions, material types, and conditions against purchase orders and shipping documents. Identify and report shortages, damaged materials, and discrepancies to the appropriate teams. Prepare outgoing materials and finished products for shipment. Coordinate carrier pickups and prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing slips. Ensure shipments are accurate, properly labelled, securely packaged, and dispatched on time. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are properly identified and stored. Keep material storage areas organized and accessible. Assist with inventory counts, stock reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution. Monitor material availability and communicate shortages or urgent requirements. Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, storage practices, and material flow. Material Handling & Shop Floor Support Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Load and unload trucks and move materials between receiving, storage, and production areas. Support shop floor material-handling activities and assist team members as needed. Work closely with production, purchasing, and project teams to ensure materials are available when required. Take ownership of material-related issues and follow through to resolution. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 2 years of shipping and/or receiving experience in a steel, heavy industrial, automotive parts manufacturing, or similar manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory management and material control. Hands-on experience handling steel, aluminum, or other industrial materials is an asset. Forklift operating experience required; valid certification is an asset. Knowledge of shipping and receiving documentation, purchase orders, and packing slips. Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make decisions. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with an industrial manufacturing environment safely.
