Location: Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge ON Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Thursday, Afternoons Compensation: $44/hour Job Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Toolmaker / Tool & Die Maker to join a well-established precision manufacturing team in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area. This is a great opportunity for a skilled trades professional experienced in building, maintaining, and repairing tooling and dies. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, has strong attention to detail, and can work with tight tolerances in a manufacturing environment. Assist with preventative maintenance and tooling repairs. Manufacture and fit tooling components to specified tolerances and design requirements. Perform grinding, fitting, spotting, polishing, stoning, and precision assembly. Operate manual and CNC machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and assembly documentation. Diagnose tooling failures and implement corrective repairs. Verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments. Maintain tooling maintenance records and repair documentation. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance and reliability. Qualifications Certified Tool & Die Maker or Mold Maker. Minimum of 2 years of relevant, successful experience working as a licensed Tool & Die Maker. Experience building, maintaining, and repairing tooling and dies. Strong skills in grinding, fitting, machining, and precision assembly. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work with tight tolerances. Experience with stamping, toolmaking and/or precision components is an asset. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
