About the Role Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, as the IT Administrator, you will ensure the stability, security, and efficient operation of ONroute’s IT infrastructure. You will oversee the installation, configuration, and optimization of our servers, networks, and hardware. As a key technical resource, your initiative-taking monitoring and troubleshooting will directly support our plaza and resource centre teams and ensure a seamless guest experience. What You Will Do Infrastructure Management: Maintain day-to-day operations, configuration, and optimization of servers, networks, telephony, and peripheral equipment. POS & Retail Tech Uptime: Own the performance, standardization, and uptime of POS systems and kiosks across all 22 plazas to ensure seamless transactions. Collaboration & Support: Partner with the resource centre, operations, and brand teams to support POS enhancements, system integrations, and ticketing escalations. Vendor Relations: Consult with third-party vendors and managed service providers for hardware procurement, telecommunications, and network support. Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce IT procedures, audit-appropriate technical controls, and cybersecurity programs. Documentation: Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and document system configurations, changes, and fixes. Qualifications & Experience Education: University degree or College diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: 5–8 years of progressive IT experience, including infrastructure and systems management. Industry Fit: Proven experience supporting large, multi-site environments and POS systems (strongly preferred). Certifications: FCP/CCNA or M365/Azure Administrator Associate credentials. Location: Ability to work on-site at least 3 days per week (office/plazas) and travel regularly to plaza locations across Ontario. Flexibility: Availability to manage on-call, after-hours assistance, and emergency IT incidents as needed. Technical Knowledge & Skills Networking: Experience managing network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, WAPs, VPN). Cloud & Modern Workplace: Strong skills in Azure hybrid cloud infrastructure and Microsoft 365 tenant administration. Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows OS (2012+), Active Directory/Entra, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V). Data & Security: Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN/NAS), NVR systems, backup schedules, and security frameworks. Core Competencies Problem Solving: Meticulous troubleshooting and analytical skills with an initiative-taking mindset. Communication: Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and partner effectively with external vendors.
