Position Details Position Status: Casual Location: Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, RCTP BW Hours: 0.00 FTE: 0.00 Shift: N/A (Casual) Shift Times: 0700-1515/1500- 315/2300-0715/ 0530-1345 Union: AUPE Aux Nursing Rate of Pay: $20.77 - $26.02 PCN: N/A Date Competition Closes: September 15, 2026 Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies this position maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. Responsible for other related duties as required. Program Summary: Rehabilitation and Community Transition Program (RCTP) – a short-stay restorative care program that supports medically stable adults who do not need an acute-care level of service, but may require additional assessment, recuperation, and therapy before returning to the community. Qualifications and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program. - Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required. - Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients. - Active and current registration with CLHA required. - Related experience in a health care facility is an asset. - Program specific training/experience is an asset. \n \n

Requirements

Candidates must hold a High School Diploma and have graduated from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program. Active registration with the CLHA and the physical ability to lift and transfer clients are mandatory.
