We put you first: Base salary range for Driver - DZ: $26.80 - $27.80 / hr Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Full Time) Boot and/or tool allowance Telemedicine, Group insurance Financial Benefits: Profit Sharing Plan, Retirement Plan with company matching, Stock Options & Annual flexible reimbursement program Employee assistance program (because we care about the physical and mental health of our people) Develop Your Talents By applying your expertise within our facility in Ottawa, as the Driver - DZ: Main Responsibilities Operation: Drive a Rear Packer, Roll-Off, Straight Truck, and/or Pick-up truck to various customer locations to collect recycled materials. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety: Complete pre- and post-trip truck circle checks per inspection sheets. Immediately report equipment defects, repair orders, or any vehicle/property damage. Customer & Site Service: Represent the company in a neat and courteous manner. Notify clients upon arrival and clean up any fallen debris/materials prior to departure. Documentation: Complete all job-specific paperwork, including route sheets, work orders, scale tickets, mileage reports, and logbooks. Vehicle-Specific Operations: Rear Packer: Safely empty containers into the hopper ensuring even load distribution. Roll-Off: Switch, install, remove, or tarp containers; secure compactor bins; and lock out equipment prior to switching. Straight & Pick-up Trucks: Switch rolling bins of recycled material, secure loads properly, and transport to the plant or designated drop-off sites as directed by Dispatch. There's Nobody Quite Like You! Qualifications & Experience Respect your true nature by putting forward your strengths: Education/Licensing: Valid DZ Driver’s License with air brake endorsement. Experience: Experience in a related industry (recycling, waste management, etc.) is a definite asset. Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills. Good knowledge of the City of Ottawa and surrounding areas. Strong customer service attitude and good communication skills. Accuracy with weights and measures. Requirements
Must possess a valid DZ Driver's License with an air brake endorsement. Experience in recycling or waste management and knowledge of the Ottawa area are considered strong assets.
