About

Our Mission: Chilliwack Community Services (CCS) provides opportunities with people to make positive change in their lives. For almost 100 years, CCS has been dedicated to meeting social and community needs in Chilliwack and surrounding areas. What began in 1928 with the efforts of a single woman helping a neighbour in need became a group of volunteers working for many years. In 1966, CCS became a registered society with a mandate "to identify and respond to Chilliwack area's unmet social needs'. That mandate has changed and grown so that today we provide extensive social and human services to a broad cross section of residents throughout the Chilliwack area. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the society now has over 100 employees and 220 volunteers who work out of several locations in Chilliwack and Sardis to deliver over 40 programs providing family support, early childhood development, youth, employmnet, immigrant, seniors and other community services. Funding comes from contracts with provincial, federal and municipal governments, grants, fees for service, and local service organizations. Personal donations, memberships, earned revenue, and various fundraising efforts comprise 20% of our total budget. Ther is no cost for services unless specifically noted. Confidentiality is assured.
