CHRISTMAS SHARE INTAKE WORKER 31 HOURS PER WEEK FROM NOVEMBER 12 - DECEMBER 19, 2026 MONDAYS & TUESDAYS FROM 7 AM - 3 PM, FRIDAYS 11 AM - 7 PM, SATURDAYS FROM 10 AM - 5 PM POSITION SUMMARY: The Christmas Share Intake Worker receives and processes Christmas Share hamper applications, operating out of a community location in partnership with The Salvation Army. The position maintains program records, supports duplicate screening and client follow-up, and provides intake support on distribution day. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: * Completion of Grade 12. * Three (3) months recent related experience. * Experience completing client intake, administrative processing, or community-based client service. * Experience maintaining confidential records and using electronic databases or spreadsheets. JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Strong interpersonal, organizational, and client-service skills. * Clear verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations and respond calmly to challenging situations. * Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and carry out responsibilities independently. * Strong attention to detail and ability to review information for completeness and accuracy. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and electronic file management KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Complete client intakes in a respectful, welcoming, and trauma-informed manner. 2. Review identification and eligibility information and ensure applications are complete and accurate. 3. Conduct duplicate screening using available partner lists and program records before completing intake. 4. Using the provided application documents and reference sheets, provide support through recommendations and ideas to clients to help them identify detailed, appropriate, child-specific gift wishes, clothing sizes, and other required information. 5. Complete data entry, file management, hamper numbering, and intake documentation. 6. Provide phone support, client follow-up, and resolution of incomplete or unclear applications. 7. With direction from the Christmas Share Coordinator, prepare and organize society hampers and other intake-related materials. 8. Collaborate with the volunteer host, The Salvation Army, warehouse staff, and the Christmas Sharing Coordinator regarding client flow and operational issues and identify any concerns to the Christmas Share Coordinator for resolution. 9. Attend orientation, including a warehouse tour and review of wish-list use, partner programs, eligibility requirements, and intake examples. 10. Maintain strict confidentiality of client and program information. 11. Promote the program positively in all communications and conversations with clients, partners, volunteers or other stakeholders. 12. Perform other related duties as required. GENERAL: * Wage rate as per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Administrative Assistant 1 – Grid 5 (Under Review) - $24.34 per hour * This position requires Union membership. * This position is open to all persons. * This position requires successful completion of a criminal record check. * This position reports to the Christmas Sharing Coordinator.
