The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher will contribute to the overall success of the hotel by providing support, superior customer service and upholding the quality standards in the kitchen. Responsibilities: Operates, cleans, and maintains the dishwashing equipment and ensures all areas of the kitchen are kept clean and sanitary Completes assigned prep work to support the kitchen team with regular service and banquet event preparation Adheres to Coast Hotels standards when completing tasks Ensures the safety and security of the property, other ambassadors and guests when completing tasks Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels Acts as an ambassador for Coast Hotels Demonstrates a customer service attitude with internal and external contacts Other duties as required Skills/Knowledge/Experience: Some experience in a similar role an asset; preference will be given to candidates who are completing or have completed a culinary arts/professional cook training program FoodSafe or equivalent certification Hepatitis A Vaccination recommended Physical mobility and stamina Professional attitude and appearance Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to take verbal direction and read and apply instructions Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented Good time management and organizational skills Performs duties efficiently Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training an asset Exemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays Coast Hotels offers a variety of benefits, including competitive wages & benefits, employee discounts, training & development, career advancement opportunities & more! Requirements

Candidates should have some experience in a similar role and possess or be working toward a culinary arts or professional cook training program. FoodSafe certification and WHMIS training are considered assets for this position.
