WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We’re hiring a PLC & Automation Controls Specialist responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing industrial automation systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This is an on-site role based out of our Eastside Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke. PAY RANGE The anticipated base salary for this position is $38.50 to $43.50. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. The salary range may vary based on geographic location. WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, electrical controls, instrumentation, sensors, drives, servo systems, and communication networks. Support equipment breakdowns by identifying and resolving automation and controls issues efficiently. Modify and improve existing PLC programs to enhance machine performance, reliability, safety, and maintainability. Develop and maintain Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications to improve operator usability and equipment diagnostics. Configure and support SCADA systems for monitoring, alarming, data collection, and reporting. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems as required Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and provide documentation as required. Proactively inspect equipment daily to identify early stages of breakdown to implement corrective action Improve visualization, alarm management, and operator interfaces to increase productivity and reduce downtime. Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, cycle time, reliability, and energy efficiency through automation enhancements. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE Valid interprovincial red seal license/442A Certification is required OR degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant industrial automation experience may be considered. 5+ years of experience programming and supporting industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment. Requirements

Requires a valid interprovincial Red Seal license or 442A certification, or a degree in electrical, mechatronics, automation engineering, electrical engineering technology, or a related field; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered. Candidates need at least five years of experience programming and supporting industrial automation systems in manufacturing, experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, and Beckhoff PLCs and HMIs, and strong organizational and time-management skills.
