The Opportunity Experienced Property Claims Adjuster responsible for managing property claims from intake to resolution, including coverage assessment, vendor coordination, payment processing, and salvage/subrogation activities. The successful person will come with Personal and/or Commercial property experience. What to Expect * Accepting notice of claims and working with customers and preferred vendors to resolve claims quickly and efficiently * Investigate, evaluate, and resolve moderate and complex first party Personal and Commercial claims including those of a suspicious nature from start to finish * Confirming policy coverage by ensuring the facts of the claim fall within the scope of Economical claims policies * Maintaining detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems * Processing claims payments within level of authority after verifying claimants’ entitlements * Initiating salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned files What You Bring * University degree, 2-year college diploma or the CIP designation * Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience handling commercial and personal property claims with demonstrated progression and competence in intermediate and complex claims * Knowledge of Definity policy wordings and systems would be an asset * Familiarity with vendor guidelines, including the re-inspection program would be an asset * Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions * Able to perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure * Proficient in MS Word and Excel * Team-oriented, enjoys collaboration and being a part of a progressive team * High performance individual, strives for the highest quality results * Adaptable, is comfortable with changes and is ready to take on new challenges * Strong written and verbal communication skills Salary Range: $59,300 - $109,200 Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
