Senior Back-End Python Developer

Job Description: This role is for a Senior Back-End Python Developer who will design, build, maintain, and enhance the back-end services for a client platform and software product. As a senior member of the software development team, this individual will take ownership of complex technical solutions, contribute to architectural and design decisions, and ensure the scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability of the platform. The Senior Developer will work closely with product, engineering, analytics, and other cross-functional partners to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. They will also provide technical guidance to other developers and contribute to strong engineering practices across the team. Technical Skills Primary Stack: Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience designing and maintaining production-grade back-end applications. API & Service Development: Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and service integrations. Back-End Architecture: Strong understanding of service boundaries, data models, distributed systems, and scalable back-end architecture. Cloud & Deployment: Strong experience working with cloud environments, preferably GCP, and containerization/orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Data & Performance: Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling, query optimization, application performance, and scalable data-access patterns. Software Craftsmanship: Demonstrated ability to apply clean-code principles, automated testing strategies, code-review practices, CI/CD, observability, and Git workflows within an Agile development environment. Architecture & Design: Experience applying software design principles and patterns to create maintainable and extensible systems. Experience with Domain-Driven Design, microservices, and event-driven architectures is highly preferred. Production Ownership: Experience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues using application logs, monitoring, metrics, and other observability tooling.
