Job details
sales building materials Building enveloppe Technical Sales Representative Building Materials British Columbia – primarily Lower Mainland Compensation: $90,000 guaranteed first year | Expected earnings $130,000–$140,000 + Car allowance + Benefits + RRSP Our Client is a growing Canadian manufacturer within the building materials and architectural products industry. With continued growth in Western Canada, they are looking to add a Technical Sales Representative to support and develop their business throughout British Columbia. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys sales but also likes the technical and hands-on side of the construction industry. The Role You will manage a territory covering British Columbia, with the majority of your time focused in the Lower Mainland. You will work closely with established distribution partners, helping them grow the business, develop opportunities and ensure their teams have the product knowledge and support they need. But this is not a role where you simply visit distributors and manage accounts. A big part of the position will be getting out into the field, visiting contractors, installers and active job sites. You will become a technical resource for the people actually working with the products — answering questions, helping with applications, providing training and troubleshooting installation challenges when required. You will be the link between the manufacturer, distributor and installer. What You Will Be Doing Manage and grow the BC territory, primarily throughout the Lower Mainland. Develop strong relationships with existing distribution partners. Identify opportunities to increase sales and market penetration. Support distributor sales teams with product knowledge and training. Visit contractors and installers in the field. Attend active job sites to provide technical and installation support. Help troubleshoot product applications and installation questions. Provide product demonstrations and training. Develop new relationships and identify projects throughout the territory. Follow opportunities from the distributor level through to the job site. Work independently while staying closely connected with the internal sales and technical teams. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is commercial, technical and comfortable in the field. You don't need to be an engineer, but you should enjoy understanding how products work, how they are installed and how to help a contractor find the right solution. Experience within building materials, construction products or distribution would be highly valuable. You Should Be Comfortable Working with distributors and their sales teams. Building relationships with contractors and installers. Walking onto a construction site and speaking directly with the people doing the work. Learning technical products and becoming a product expert. Developing new business while supporting existing accounts. Managing a large territory independently. Travelling throughout BC when required. Compensation The company offers a $90,000 guaranteed income for the first year, allowing you the time to learn the products, develop relationships and build your territory. Once established, the expected earning potential is approximately $130,000–$140,000. Car allowance + Benefits + RRSP If you come from the building materials or construction industry and enjoy being in the field, close to your customers and close to the product, this could be an excellent next step.
