Job details

A well-established residential developer and builder is seeking a Senior Project Manager to play a critical role in the future growth of the organization. This is not your traditional project management position. We're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between development, design, approvals, and construction while helping bring key technical capabilities in-house. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and senior leadership, supporting projects from concept through execution while contributing to long-term business decisions. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, solving complex problems, and having influence beyond the scope of a typical project management role. What You'll Do Lead residential development and design initiatives from planning through execution. Manage and maintain existing home plans within a CAD-based environment. Evaluate and recommend design software, systems, and workflows. Coordinate consultants, engineers, designers, municipalities, and internal stakeholders. Support development planning, approvals, permitting, and project execution activities. Provide technical insight during early-stage project discussions and feasibility conversations. Help strengthen internal design capabilities and reduce reliance on outsourced services. Contribute to process improvements as the organization continues to grow. Build trusted relationships across construction, development, and leadership teams. Support strategic decision-making by providing practical, well-reasoned solutions to complex challenges. What We're Looking For We're intentionally open-minded regarding background and title. You may currently work in: Project Management Residential Development Architecture Architectural Technology Civil Engineering Design Management Land Development Development Planning Homebuilding Successful candidates will bring a combination of: Experience managing projects, developments, or technical design initiatives. Strong understanding of residential construction and development processes. Architectural, drafting, or design experience. Experience using CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A practical, hands-on approach to leadership. Curiosity and willingness to learn beyond your immediate discipline. Highly Valued Experience While not mandatory, experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset: BCIN designation or actively working toward it. Architectural design or drafting. Residential homebuilding. Civil engineering. Land development. Development approvals and permitting. Consultant management. Municipal coordination. Design management. Cross-functional leadership. Who Will Thrive Here The strongest candidates are typically: Curious and naturally problem-solving oriented. Thoughtful before making decisions. Relationship-focused and collaborative. Able to earn trust through sound judgment and consistency. Interested in contributing to business decisions, not just project execution. Looking for a long-term opportunity with leadership potential. Why This Opportunity Stands Out This role offers significantly more influence than a traditional project management position. You'll have the opportunity to: Work directly with ownership and senior leadership. Contribute to development, design, and planning decisions. Help shape the future structure and capabilities of the organization. Expand your responsibilities beyond a single function or discipline. Grow into a trusted advisor and key contributor within the business. For the right individual, this role offers a clear path toward broader leadership responsibility over time.
