The Role: Controller In this role, you will spend most of your time overseeing financial reporting, consolidations, job-cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements across multiple business entities. You will work closely with executive leadership, operations teams, project managers, and accounting staff to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and meaningful business insights. Key areas of responsibility include: Overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Preparing consolidated financial statements, WIP schedules, job-cost reporting, and margin analysis Supporting acquisition due diligence, integration activities, and purchase accounting Leading and developing accounting team members through training, mentorship, and succession planning Strengthening internal controls across accounting, payroll, procurement, and project operations Driving ERP and process improvement initiatives to support scalability and growth Partnering with leadership on strategic planning, capital allocation, and business expansion initiatives Providing financial insights that support project selection, bidding strategies, profitability analysis, and resource planning What You'll Bring 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff Strong financial reporting and consolidation experience Expertise in job-cost accounting, WIP reporting, and project-based accounting environments Experience supporting acquisitions, integration activities, or multi-entity organizations Strong understanding of internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis ERP system experience; exposure to construction ERP platforms such as Jonas is considered an asset Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills Benefits & Environment Benefits for this role include competitive compensation, bonus potential, professional growth opportunities, leadership exposure, and the chance to help shape the future of a growing organization.
