Job Vacancy –Lead Hand – 1st Shift Sanitation The Lead Hand assists the Sanitation Supervisor to ensure that the sanitation requirements are met for each department/area. The Lead Hand is responsible for assisting in the coordination of work to maximize productivity, while adhering to health and safety, food safety and organizational standards. The Lead Hand will report directly to the Department Supervisor. Job Duties: * Understand the sanitation requirements of the department/area. * Confirms SOPs are followed related to equipment cleaning as listed in the Sanitation Manual. * Ensure duties are performance in accordance with the Sanitation Lead Hand Checklist; this includes Equipment Sanitation Check, Clean Mode requirements and the Start-up Check list. * Communicate and monitor output. * Assist new employees, provide direction and guidance and assign work. * Complete required documentation accurately and on time. * Perform all work to organizational standards. * Determine and report product and equipment malfunctions to the appropriate authority. * Work effectively as part of a team to ensure productivity and efficiency, reporting any issues to the Supervisor. * Participate in educational and training opportunities applicable to the position. Requirements: * Previous Eden Valley Poultry production/sanitation experience. * Strong leadership skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. * Ability to operate various types of machinery. * Ability to communicate logically ordered objectives. Excellent organizational skills. * Ability to work as a team.
