They're looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of accounting and financial operations across the company, reporting directly to the General Manager. This is a role for someone who wants to lead the finance function but also genuinely enjoys being in the details - from monthly close to construction loan draws to land purchase analysis. What Our Client Has to Offer Base salary: $100,000–$120,000 Discretionary annual bonus Comprehensive benefits package RRSP matching program CPA membership dues covered + continuing education 4 weeks vacation Fully onsite role with direct exposure to ownership and senior leadership Genuine scope to shape financial processes and controls, not just maintain them What You'll Do Own day-to-day accounting operations, including AR, AP, GL, cost accounting, government remittances, inventory accounting, banking, revenue recognition, and payroll Lead the annual budget process, financial forecasting, and variance analysis Prepare and publish monthly financial statements Provide financial analysis and strategic counsel on land and lot purchase opportunities Build pro-forma statements and cash flow analyses to support new business decisions Manage daily cash requirements and banking across multiple companies and project accounts Prepare monthly and long-term cash flow forecasts Develop detailed construction project budgets and cash flows Coordinate monthly construction loan funding with lawyers and lenders Liaise with cost consultants and prepare documentation supporting construction loan draws Develop, document, and communicate internal control policies and accounting procedures Manage government reporting requirements and tax filings Support month-end and year-end close processes Research technical accounting issues to maintain compliance Mentor and oversee one direct report What You Bring CPA, CGA, CMA, CA designation 5+ years of combined accounting and finance experience in construction Strong full-cycle accounting knowledge, including budgeting and cost control Experience with Sage accounting software is preferred Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines Confidence interacting with management, ownership, external partners, and staff This posting is for an open vacancy currently available within our client's organization. What you’ll do
