The Role The FP&A Analyst will play a key role in supporting the financial planning needs of the Marketing and Infrastructure business units. Reporting to the Operations Controller, this position will play a critical role in developing and maintaining financial models, preparing forecasts and budgets, performing in-depth analysis of and stewarding financial results to support strategic decision-making and operational performance.
What You Will Do
- Develops, updates and maintains complex driver-based financial models to support monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic initiatives for the Marketing and Infrastructure business units.
- Analyzes market trends, operational metrics, and perform scenario analysis to assess business performance and identify risks and opportunities across the value chain to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develops and maintains concise and repeatable process documentation outlining key data sources and assumptions.
- Collaborates closely with senior management and cross-functional teams across Commercial, Operations, Marketing, and Accounting teams.
- Ensures key performance indicators (KPIs), forecasts, and budgets are accurately developed, monitored, and reported.
- Partners with leadership to deliver timely, data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making and optimize business performance.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting, ideally within the energy, infrastructure, or midstream sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI; experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, trade capture systems, PowerBI, or similar systems is an asset.
- Demonstrates strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Demonstrates ability to interpret and communicate business analyses to diverse audiences.

Gibson Energy Operates Through Two Main Segments
- Infrastructure: This includes terminals, marine loading, rail loading and unloading facilities, gathering pipelines, a diluent recovery unit, and a crude oil processing facility. Key facilities within this segment include the Hardisty, Edmonton, and Ingleside Terminals, as well as gathering pipelines in the United States and a crude oil processing facility in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
- Marketing: This involves the purchasing, selling, storing, and optimizing of hydrocarbon products.
Gibson Energy has a strong presence in the United States, due to the acquisition of the Gateway Terminal in Ingleside, Texas. This terminal is a world-class liquids terminal and export facility with very large crude carrier (VLCC) capabilities and direct pipeline connections to key basins like the Permian and Eagle Ford. The acquisition strengthens Gibson's cash flow with over 95% of the revenue under take-or-pay contracts with high-quality counterparties.
