Role Summary
The Accounts Payable/Receivable (A/P, A/R) and Payroll Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, and handling accounts payable and receivable functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and promptly.
- Accurately code invoices and record transactions.
- Handle expense reports and credit card bills.
- Manage semi-monthly payroll processing, including time tracking, deductions, and benefit administration.
- Prepare annual T4 statements.
- Responsible for benefit and pension administration.
- Prepare invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audits and reporting.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Match vendor statements with AP records and investigate discrepancies.
- Process the monthly OEM statement.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable and payroll administration.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
- Experience with dealership accounting software (PBS or similar) is an asset.
- Prior dealership accounting experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with OEM statement (Nissan, Honda, Ford, Chrysler, etc.) posting is a strong asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
