Job summary
Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities Responsible for planning project work, securing requisite materials and subcontracted services and providing information to permit billing of services provided to our Francphone customers. Works safely. Complies with human rights legislation and treats everyone with respect and dignity, maintaining a harassment and violence free workplace. Responsible for complying with health and safety laws and with internal policies, procedures, work instructions, job safety procedures and practices. Reviews signed contracts and develops project schedules, identifying materials to be purchased and services to be retained. Based on contract review and project start-up meetings, primarily in French when required, prepares GANTT charts outlining project services delivery schedules. Attends project meetings and adjusts project schedules as projects progress to reflect changed timing and material and subcontracted service needs. Obtains approvals for material and subcontracted services from Manager, Operations and Logistics and Vice President/General Manager to ensure appropriate/suitable suppliers are used. Prepares purchase order requisitions for materials and subcontracted services and submits same for processing. Responsible for tracking inventory by project. Contacts subcontracted project service providers and arranges timing and scope of services to be provided in accordance with project plans. Arrange for Facility Maintenance Supervisor and/or designate to oversee on-site contractors. Tracks the cost of materials purchased, subcontracted services received and the cost of in-house labour and services provided, by project, for invoicing and accrual purposes. After reviewing contract terms and costs/labour incurred, prepares Invoice Request Forms and submits same to Accounting for invoice creation and issuance to customers. Prepares reports in French where required, comparing costs incurred compared to contract commitments and provides same to Vice President/General Manager. Attends project sites to gain familiarity with off-site customer work performed. Ensures that safety, security rules, and operational instructions are communicated and understood by field teams in French. When required, provides English-language clarification to non-French-speaking stakeholders to support coordination and compliance. Leads Project meetings in French when required Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements/Skills French is required for oral and written communications, including internal meetings, project documentation, reporting, and interactions with francophone clients and subcontractors. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Bilingualism (English/French) is a must. Intermediate computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) to prepare spreadsheets, pivot tables and analyze data. Visio to create GANTT charts. MP2 Equipment Inventory Software. Full Class G Drivers License for off-site project visits. Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Fluent French speaking and writing is a must Preferred Education: Engineering Degree Required Experience: Minimum 3 years’ related experience. Preferred Experience: CANDU Experience Certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management designation (CAPM). Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or working towards same.
