About the Role We are seeking a customer-focused Field IT Consultant to join our team supporting clients throughout Northern Alberta. This is a hands-on role that combines onsite and remote technical support, project work, infrastructure deployments, and emergency response services. As a Field IT Consultant, you'll work directly with clients to resolve technical issues, deploy technology solutions, and support ongoing IT operations across a variety of environments. Travel to client sites, including remote locations, is a key component of this role. A company vehicle will be provided for business travel. What You'll Do Technical Support & Client Service Provide onsite and remote support for end users, hardware, software, and infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Microsoft technologies, networking, printers, mobile devices, and remote access solutions. Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong client relationships. Provide emergency and after-hours support when required. Project & Deployment Work Assist with technology deployments, upgrades, refreshes, and infrastructure projects. Install, configure, and support hardware, software, and networking equipment. Update asset inventories and deployment documentation. Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors as needed. Support system rollouts and technology migrations across client environments. Infrastructure Support Support network installations, including structured cabling and fiber-optic infrastructure. Assist with wireless networking solutions and remote communications technologies. Support security cameras and associated hardware. Provide support for telecommunications and remote site connectivity solutions. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical support or field services role. Experience working with ticketing and service management systems. Strong knowledge of: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 PC hardware and peripherals Networking fundamentals Printers and print management Mobile devices (Apple and Android) Remote access technologies (VPN, Citrix, RSA, etc.) Experience with network cabling and fiber-optic installation/termination. Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Nice-to-Have Qualifications CompTIA A+, Network+, or PDI+ certifications. Point-to-point wireless networking experience. Application virtualization experience. Project coordination or deployment experience. Experience supporting security cameras and surveillance systems.
