Role Summary: As an Account Manager you will develop relationships with customers, manage appointment times and act as liaise between our internal team and your primary accounts, handling all day to day operational needs. You will be actively involved in managing your loads from origin to destination, providing timely updates to your clients and keeping everyone aligned on expectations. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders will allow you to understand and anticipate your customers’ needs exceeding their service expectations. Hours of Work: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday Work Arrangement: On-site Position Type: Non-Union Employment Status: Permanent Compensation: Salary: $60,000 Work Location & Environment: 2905 Bristol Circle, Oakville, ON L6H 6X5; office environment Key Accountabilities: Communicate daily with carriers and customers; location and status updates to your portfolio and retrieving timely location and status updates from partner carriers Work with ASL Fleet to utilize assets; book pick-up and delivery appointments and input the load details into our Transport Management Software Strong relations within the sales team and with other internal clients; building and executing operational strategies Quote rates for customers as required Communicate service issues as required and develop solutions; maximize efficiencies Research carrier cost discrepancies as required Maintain positivity in the face of adversity, pushing through roadblocks with determination and integrity Work with A/P and Billing as required Co-ordinate inbound / outbound loads with ASL operations or customers Order entry; Order tracking; complete reports as needed i.e. on time performance Always remain focused on providing best-in-class service to better service and growth potential Continually look for opportunities to learn, always challenging the status quo Follow all company policies, ethics and company procedures Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings: Education & Experience: Relative post-secondary education in transportation/logistics or a college degree in a related field Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a Logistics Account Manager role; dealing with carriers and negotiating prices Well versed with domestic and transborder conditions of carriage Experience with LTL, Truckload, Courier and Intermodal transportation modes Skills & Attributes: Ability to have multiple focus areas Exposure to FLX and/or Renova is an asset Great problem solving, creativity, decision making ability and determination Unwavering resolve that allows you to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy and time-sensitive environment Strong communicator, positive attitude with great people skills Great organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of Microsoft Office (ability to leverage Excel, Word, Outlook etc) How To Apply: If you’re interested in joining our team, please submit your application through our online career portal.
