POSITION SUMMARY The Project Design Specialist is a mid-level professional with a strong engineering background and experience in managing technical documentation. The Project Design Specialist will play a key role in coordinating design activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and overseeing document control processes to maintain accuracy and integrity across all project deliverables. Reports to: Design Manager The Project Design Specialist shall be responsible for: * Support design projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, and production to resolve technical issues. * Manage and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with company standards. * Implement and enforce document control procedures to ensure version accuracy and traceability. * Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to distribute and update documents. * Provide actionable analysis on submissions performance metrics to project managers and leadership. * Generate, customize, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports (e.g., document status, submission logs, overdue items, approval timelines) * Analyze submission and approval statuses. Provide clear, actionable analysis on document performance metrics to project managers and leadership. * Maintain dashboards for real-time visibility of document control health across projects. * Review and validate design documents for compliance with project requirements and industry standards. * Provide technical input during design reviews and assist in resolving engineering challenges. * Develop and maintain detailed schedules for document submissions, reviews, and approvals in alignment with project master schedules. * Forecast upcoming submission deadlines and resource requirements based on project phases. * Proactively identify potential delays in the document review cycle and propose mitigation strategies. * Coordinate with engineering, design, and construction teams to align document delivery with project milestones. * Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and quality management systems. * Support audits and inspections related to document control and project engineering activities. * Maintain and enforce the company's document control procedures and standards. * Ensure all document control activities comply with project-specific requirements, ISO standards, or other quality management systems. * Manage document numbering, revisions, and archival processes. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline. * 5–8 years of experience in engineering projects, preferably within a design or manufacturing environment. * Proven experience in document control systems and processes. JOB REQUIREMENTS * Strong understanding of engineering principles and design processes. * Proficiency in document management software and CAD tools. * Excellent organizational and communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
