We are seeking a motivated and results-driven NVOCC Business Development Specialist to expand our presence throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who thrives on building relationships, developing new business, and creating long-term customer partnerships. The successful candidate will possess a strong sales orientation, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to earn a client's trust while positioning Gillship Navigation as the preferred NVOCC partner in Canada. This is a hybrid position. Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM About the Role As a NVOCC Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. You will work closely with our operations and inside sales teams to deliver exceptional service and customized shipping solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified sales opportunities. Prospect and establish relationships with international freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers. Generate new business through phone calls, networking, referrals, and in-person meetings. Qualify prospective customers and provide competitive pricing and service solutions. Conduct regular client visits and maintain ongoing communication with existing customers. Ensure customer expectations are met through proactive account management and collaboration with internal teams. Work closely with operations and inside sales personnel to support customer requirements and business growth. Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions as a representative of Gillship Navigation. Maintain accurate sales activity records, forecasts, and reports. Consistently develop profitable new business opportunities throughout Western Canada. Qualifications Previous experience in sales, business development, freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or NVOCC services is preferred. Strong relationship-building and customer service skills. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a sales territory. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Comfortable with travel throughout Western Canada. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
