Job summary

The Student Life Coordinator develops and implements an annual calendar of events to facilitate student socialization and personal growth. They also act as a liaison with community agencies and provide advisory support to the Student Council.

Job details

RESPONSIBILITIES The SLC will have continuous communication with students in both the single and family housing to encourage student engagement throughout the academic year. The SLC will liaise with community agencies and groups and ensure students are informed of activities and opportunities to participate in the larger Cambridge Bay community. The SLC is accountable for student governance and as such, will also advise and assist the Student Council in organizing their events and activities. The SLC also works closely with the Student Services team and supports efforts to secure funding for programming. QUALIFICATIONS The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through the completion of an undergraduate degree in education, human resource development, career development or a related field with two (2) years of related work experience. Completion of a post-secondary certificate or diploma in recreation is an asset. Conditions of employment: * Class 4 driver’s license must be obtained within the probationary period. * First Aid, CPR and basic Suicide Intervention certificate must be obtained within the probationary period.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in education, human resources, or a related field with at least two years of relevant experience.
