Job summary

Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the F&B Supervisor, this position is responsible for seating guests in a friendly and professional manner and providing food and beverage service while maintaining and recording daily sales on the P.O.S system. This position may be performed in a restaurant, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a special event, or other areas. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Key Accountabilities * Provides exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers in an upbeat, positive and professional manner; * Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items available at the restaurants; * Inform guests of specials and menu changes. * Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar. * Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter. Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy; * Help to maintain clean service areas. * Be knowledgeable with the current food and beverage programs, incentives and customer concerns by regularly liaising with the F&B Manager and Supervisor; * Answer general questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services in the premise. * Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the F&B Manager and Supervisor. * Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments * Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests,ownership and employees) * Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations * Performs other duties as assigned or directed. Education and Qualification Requirements * High School Diploma or equivalent working experience; * Previous customer service experience required * Server or Beverage Host experience required * Previous cash handling and P.O.S system experience an asset; * Excellent customer service skills * Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, customer service and communication skills; * Ability to professionally handle situations that may arise due to intoxicated guests * Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment * Bilingualism in English and French as asset * Must be able to pass a criminal background check * Must be 19 years of age or older Work Environment Considerations * Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables; * This role requires extended period of standing, walking, bending and may lift up to 35 lbs. * The role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to business needs, will have non-traditional work hours including holidays, evening, overnight or weekend shifts.
