Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for supervising the Scheduling Department in collaboration with the site department leads to ensure scheduling requirements are met for business demands. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, Collective Agreement requirements, practices, and procedures. Key Accountabilities: * Development, implementation and evaluation of staff schedules; * Ensure team members are scheduled appropriately and pay data is captured in accordance with established policies, procedures, Collective Agreement provisions, and ESA; * Develop and maintain working relationships between Managers (all departments), Supervisors, and team members as it relates to the operational staffing levels and planned work programming on shift; * Liaise with the Managers for each area to communicate progress and status of staffing in their areas of responsibility during routine, irregular and emergency operations thereby ensuring sufficient qualified personnel to perform required tasks; * Supervise daily activity of the Scheduling team to ensure all scheduling related tasks are being completed in a timely and efficient manner; * Train and communicate new policies and procedures to Schedulers * Promote smooth interactions with other departments and foster good interdepartmental relations; * Manage and develop an effective team to meet and exceed performance expectations by establishing and maintaining a positive work environment and effective team member relations; * Analyze the scheduled versus actual labour used across the business to identify trends in business activity; * Direct the administrative process of time off allotments and attendance policies and disciplinary process in a timely manner; * Provide and generate supporting monthly reports; * Identify scheduling related issues and inefficiencies; * Assist in developing long range plans and assists in establishing schedules to meet business demands; * Convey policies and procedures related to departments and Centralized scheduling practices to assist in completing administrative tasks * Adjust staffing needs based on special events, large party reservations, table games/slot tournaments while maintaining compliance with scheduling to include departments covered by Collective Agreements * Analyze staffing data provided by department and Finance to ensure appropriate staffing levels; * Ensure the timeliness of schedule creation and delivery to the standards as set out by the Manager and Collective Agreements * Work with department heads to adjust staffing models and approve schedule changes independently, as necessary; * Provide assistance and support to the Human Resources Department with appropriate tasks and projects as required * Perform other duties as assigned Educational and Functional Requirements: * Post-Secondary education in Business or Office Administration or suitable combination of continuing education and strong experience; * At least 3 years relevant work experience in a scheduling/administrative environment; * In-depth knowledge of Union and Non-Union contracts and ability to apply Collective Agreement language; * In-depth knowledge of Human Resources policies, procedures and demonstrated ability to interpret and consistently apply these; * Experience with Virtual Roster (Environment for Scheduling Personnel) Software or automate scheduling software is an asset; * Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and keyboarding skills of 40WPM; * Excellent organizational and time management skills; * Proven communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal; * Thrives on being a creative problem solver; * Excellent listening skills and client relationship skills; * Ability to be self-directed and take initiative while working independently and remaining focused on an assignment through to delivery; * Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment; * Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict; * Must have the availability to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays; * Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required Great Canadian Entertainment is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and we welcome all qualified applicants to apply to join our team of unique contributors.
