General Description Working in cooperation with the Mission Youth House, Jesters Theatre and area leadership, the Youth Worker promotes a safe and welcoming environment for all youth who walk through our doors at any program location. They support the daily operations of youth programming through direct mentorship, crisis intervention, life-skills programming and volunteer management while both building trust with vulnerable young people and collaboratingm alongside our diverse team. They have deep knowledge of youth culture and community resources, and can effectively navigate complex situations while maintaining a trauma-informed approach to care. The Youth Worker would also provide services in youth spaces throughout the community where we have partnerships. In addition, they are strong in administrative skills including computer navigation, word processing, spreadsheets and budgeting. What must the candidate possess to thrive in the position Degree or diploma in social services related training, bible school and/or office administration At least 3 years experience in related work Professionalism in verbal and written communication Proficiency in producing written content/newsletters/spreadsheets Ability to work in team and independently, while being a highly efficient time manager Competency to plan and coordinate meetings, small groups, and events Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to share his story Possess a felt calling to help youth reach their full potential Working Conditions Working in Mission at various locations and programming, 5 days/week Developing and maintaining relationships with ministry partners, businesses, and other community partners Collaborating with other Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited staff, volunteers and community partners Occasional evening work, weekend work, day trips, and extended trips As part of this role, you will actively build a team of ministry partners who support your work through prayer and financial giving. This includes raising funds to cover your salary and program expenses. Training, coaching, and resources are provided to help you succeed in this important aspect of ministry. Youth Unlimited salaries are set by our Board of Directors, with frontline salaries at the upper levels of industry standards.
