Our client, a fast-growing MGA, is looking for a Professional Lines Underwriter who thrives on new business acquisition, complex risks, and building lasting broker relationships. In this role, you’ll help drive profitable growth across a specialty portfolio by crafting tailored coverage solutions and applying strong underwriting judgment across evolving industries. Responsibilities Underwrite and assess new business opportunities across specialty/professional lines products Manage a portion of renewal business while maintaining strong broker relationships Analyze risk exposures, coverage needs, and pricing considerations to support sound decisions Develop creative underwriting solutions tailored to unique client needs and emerging risks Build and strengthen relationships with brokers and industry partners through consistent engagement Participate in business development and networking activities to expand pipeline and presence Support profitable portfolio growth while maintaining underwriting discipline and quality Collaborate with internal teams to align underwriting approach with broader strategy and client outcomes Work across product lines such as Miscellaneous E&O, Technology E&O, Medical Malpractice Liability, and Environmental Liability Required Skills / Qualifications Experience underwriting or broking specialty lines products, ideally with meaningful exposure to E&O Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with brokers/partners Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while staying collaborative Genuine interest in networking, business development, and new business production Experience level: open to intermediate or senior candidates Benefits / Why this role Flexible work arrangements, with remote considered for the right candidate Competitive base salary and bonus offering Health and medical coverage Paid time off Exposure to a broad range of specialty products and unique, evolving risks High autonomy in a collaborative environment that values initiative and fresh thinking Opportunities to attend industry events and deepen broker relationships At Aplin — together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems — we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
