Senior Java Full Stack Developer Location: Toronto, ON / Montreal, QC Work Arrangement: Hybrid Contract: Contract Opportunity Experience: 8+ years We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to join a collaborative technology team supporting a variety of engineering projects and day-to-day application initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across backend and frontend development, collaborating with technical teams, and contributing to different projects in a supportive team environment. What You’ll Do Develop new solutions and features for technology programs and projects Design, develop, test, and implement applications using Java and Spring Boot Build and enhance frontend applications using Angular Develop and maintain RESTful and other web services Perform unit and component testing and support testing cycles Participate in peer code reviews and maintain high-quality, defect-free code Support application enhancements, break/fix activities, and production issues Analyze technical requirements and recommend practical engineering solutions Collaborate with developers, technology partners, and other internal stakeholders Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog activities Support incident management, troubleshooting, impact assessments, and resolution Document application components, infrastructure, integrations, and technical designs Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, and support processes Must-Have Skills 8+ years of software development experience Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot Strong experience with Angular Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines Strong understanding of application infrastructure and how applications interact with infrastructure Strong collaboration and communication skills Experience developing and integrating web services and APIs Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment Technical Experience Experience with several of the following: Java / Spring Boot Angular Node.js Tomcat / JBoss REST, SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB2, JAX-RS, Web API Maven, Nexus, Jenkins Git, Stash, Bitbucket Oracle, SQL Server, and/or DB2 Jira and Confluence Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Nice to Have Experience integrating with Guardwire Cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS Experience integrating with vendor products and third-party technology partners Experience within the banking and insurance space, particularly insurance-related applications What You Can Expect Supportive and collaborative team culture Opportunity to work on different projects and initiatives Training and onboarding provided Opportunity to collaborate with experienced technology professionals A role where quality, delivery, collaboration, and meeting deadlines are highly valued Note: We use AI tools to: obtain basic information, detect plagiarism, false employment history or references, categorize your skills, and do an initial match with job posting.
