We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Platform Lead to drive product quality excellence across our Waukesha engine platforms. In this critical leadership role, you will partner across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality, and Service teams to ensure product quality issues, defects, and non-conformances are effectively identified, prioritized, resolved, and prevented. The Quality Platform Lead serves as the primary quality champion for assigned engine platforms, leading cross-functional initiatives that enhance product reliability, customer satisfaction, manufacturing performance, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle. This role also plays a key part in supporting new product introductions, engineering changes, and operational quality initiatives. What You'll Do * Product & Platform Quality Leadership * Own and drive Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across engine platforms, quality processes, and cross-functional business areas. * Lead quality initiatives supporting Operations and Supply Chain projects, with particular emphasis on quality cases at the Welland manufacturing facility. * Facilitate issue screening and continuous improvement processes, including leadership of Operations Issue Screening Meetings. * Develop and execute quality plans that support production and business objectives. * Manage quality-related costs and improvement initiatives in alignment with organizational goals. * Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement * Lead audits, quality reviews, root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive action activities. * Facilitate structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5 Whys, and Causal Analysis. * Promote and champion Lean Six Sigma principles to drive sustainable business improvements. * Perform servicing and packaging audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer expectations. * Reliability & Field Performance * Analyze field performance and reliability data to identify recurring failure modes and quality trends. * Drive cross-functional corrective actions that improve product reliability and reduce customer defects. * Utilize quality and reliability methodologies including MTBF, FMEA, and related analytical tools to improve product performance. * Cross-Functional Project Leadership * Lead and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service, and Leadership teams to resolve quality concerns and drive improvements. * Support platform development activities, product launches, and engineering change management processes, including the release of new engine products. What You'll Bring * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree and 3+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent industry experience may substitute for formal education. * Technical & Professional Skills * Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, and Process Improvement methodologies. * Proven ability to analyze complex engineering and quality data and communicate findings effectively to technical and business leaders. * Knowledge of quality and reliability tools and methodologies including: MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), FMEA, Causal Effects Analysis, 8D Problem Solving, 5 Whys * Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly: Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, reporting, automation), PowerPoint (technical presentations and executive reporting) * Experience utilizing web-based collaboration, reporting, and data management platforms. What will make you stand out: * Experience supporting new product development and design engineering efforts for combustion engines or similar industrial equipment. * Exposure to Creo CAD and hands-on engineering experience is beneficial. * Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. * Passion for adopting new technologies and digital solutions to improve quality performance. * Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills. * Demonstrated ability to remain effective under pressure while driving alignment and accountability across diverse teams. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus. Additional Information: * Location: Welland, ON Canada * Travel: Up to 25% domestic and international. Candidates must able to travel freely within the U.S., Canada, and internationally as required. * The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $155,000 which will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
