Location: Toronto Contract: 1 year (possibility of extension) Hybrid: 2-3 days a week onsite Pay Rate: $80 JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is seeking a lead Java developer in Toronto. You will be the primary point of contact for traders, Quants, and support partners across North America and APAC, and will lead development projects that expand the system's capabilities to support Capital Markets Macro trading business. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, you'll be writing production code daily while setting the technical direction for the work. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 8+ years of hands-on server-side Java development, with strong emphasis on concurrency, messaging, and event processing OR very strong C++ development 1+ years setting technical direction in a lead or senior engineering capacity (hands-on technical leadership, not people management) Working knowledge of capital markets and the trade lifecycle, sufficient to communicate effectively with front office teams Curve building and interest rate swap pricing knowledge, with hands-on experience in at least one of the following: Rates curve building and pricing, or Rates eTrading FX forward curve building and pricing, or FX eTrading Credit curve building and pricing, or Credit eTrading Design and implementation of low-latency trading applications using real-time messaging technologies (Solace, TREP or IBM MQ) SQL Experience providing L2 production support as part of a team NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DevOps/CI-CD pipeline exposure and/or tooling (Jira, GitHub, Maven, Jenkins) REST APIs, and web services Front-end exposure: HTML5, React.js, Node.js Agile project experience Vacancy: This posting is for a currently vacant role, and the successful candidate will be hired into an existing open position. *Artificial Intelligence tools are used to assist in screening and assessing applicants for this position

Requires 8+ years of hands-on server-side Java development, or very strong C++ development, and at least one year setting technical direction in a hands-on senior or lead engineering role. Candidates need working knowledge of capital markets and the trade lifecycle, relevant rates, FX, or credit curve-building and pricing experience, low-latency messaging application experience, SQL, and team-based L2 production support experience.
