We are seeking a driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our recruitment team at IPH Canada. The selected candidate can be based in Montreal, Toronto or Ottawa and will work in one of our member firms (ROBIC in Montreal or Quebec, Smart & Biggar in Montreal, Toronto or Ottawa). We offer a flexible hybrid working environment. This role represents a 12-month contract for a maternity leave replacement. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with several departments within both firms to ensure recruitment needs are met. This includes full-cycle recruitment, from the intake of a recruitment request to the onboarding of a new hire. The role allows a high level of autonomy for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, with plenty of different types of roles within the legal field. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions across the organization, from requisition intake through onboarding Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, define hiring strategies, and establish role requirements, qualifications, and competencies Review, update, and maintain accurate job descriptions and job specifications Prepare recruitment requisitions and post opportunities through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), job boards, and other recruitment platforms Source active and passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, professional networks, referrals, and other sourcing tools Develop and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs Screen applications, conduct phone and virtual interviews, and assess candidates against job requirements and organizational values Coordinate and participate in interviews with hiring managers and interview panels Schedule and administer candidate assessments, aptitude tests, and other evaluation tools as required Manage candidate communications throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate experience Conduct reference checks, employment verifications, background checks, and other pre-employment screenings Prepare and present offer recommendations, negotiate employment terms, and prepare employment contracts and related documentation Ensure recruitment activities comply with employment legislation, internal policies, and equity, diversity, and inclusion principles Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and recruitment records within the ATS and HRIS Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Manager and HR team on strategic talent acquisition projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge & Experience Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a relevant field 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, or a combination of both Excellent communication skills, both in French and English, as we recruit across the country Experience with Linkedin Recruiter, an asset Experience with Successfactors, an asset Experience working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities Ability to work independently and with a team Strong resourcefulness and capacity to problem-solve About Us IPH Limited is the holding company for intellectual property (“IP”) and associated companies offering a wide range of IP services and products. The base salary for this role will be positioned between $70,000 - $85,000 taking into consideration factors such as location, job-related knowledge, prior experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a relevant field and 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, or a combination of both are required. Candidates should have excellent French and English communication skills, be comfortable with changing priorities, and be able to work independently and collaboratively; experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and SuccessFactors is an asset.
