J.D. Irving CNB Woodlands is seeking an experienced Cook Assistant/Custodian to join out dynamic team at our Chipman Camp location. Responsibilities Cook Assistant Assist Head Cook as required. Prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, supper) for a large crew. Manage food inventory and supplies, ensuring efficiency and minimal waste. Maintain top-notch cleanliness and food safety standards in all kitchen operations. Accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences whenever possible. Work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment. Custodian Clean and sanitize sleeping quarters, washrooms, showers, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all assigned areas. Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in accordance with camp protocols. Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor. General Maintenance indoor and outdoor. Qualifications Kitchen Assistant 2-5 years of Culinary Experience Experience cooking for large groups, ideally in camp or remote settings. Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work long hours and adapt to changing conditions. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude. Custodian Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Valid Driver's License
