JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our growing team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements, legal requirements including policies, standards, rules, and programs Manage unionized plant personnel at manufacturing facilities to ensure that the production of the JELD-WEN product is produced in a timely and cost-effective manner Ensure that standards for product quality, equipment and operational performance are maintained and enhanced, and that cost effective technology is used to maximize productivity utilizing SQDCI, TPS, OTD and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies, activities, and procedures Manage policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and plant performance measures Communicate to the production manager and other top plant personnel new Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies, including those established by Engineering, R&D, the VP of Operations, and corporate headquarters Advise production manager on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances, etc. Ensure that plant employees are adhering to JELD-WEN policies and procedures and administering practices in a fair and equitable manner consistent with same Coordinate plant activities to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with corporate goals/objectives Provide direction, development, and leadership to plant employees Train and develop staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary in a timely manner, in accordance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources, Legal, and/or corporate offices as needed on same Other duties and tasks assigned Qualification: Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Engineering, or a related field, and at least ten (10) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably the auto industry or door and window industry Knowledge of management principles and controls relevant to manufacturing operations, preferably in the auto industry or door and window industry Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing process improvement techniques including, but not limited to, SQDCI, TPS, OTD, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and methodologies LEAN manufacturing and/or production process experience a must Experience in working with manufacturing-based technology and the ability to effectuate operational changes as needed Leadership, interpersonal, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and drive manufacturing process improvement techniques through the production process in a skillful and deliberate manner Ability to read and write reports, business correspondence and interpret general business practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills to appropriate plant personnel Ability to effectively present information to Plant Management and respond to questions when asked Excellent business acumen, decision making and problem-solving skills The ability to lead and be a change agent on best industry practices as needed Proficient in Microsoft Office and other position applicable software applications Knowledge of manufacturing/OSHA health and safety standards and compliance Base Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience. #LI-RM1#JWCanada About JELD-WEN Holding, Inc. Candidates must have at least ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive or door and window industries. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and production process improvement techniques.
