About The Role

We are seeking a Electrical Estimator to join our team in Calgary, AB. In this key pre-construction role, you will be responsible for leading electrical estimating activities and preparing competitive bids for commercial and industrial construction projects. Working closely with the business development and project teams, you will play an integral role in supporting project success and company growth.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Electrical Tradesperson or Electrical Technologist who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, excellent estimating skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.

Manage estimating pursuits and bid preparation for assigned projects.

Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify project scope, quantities, risks, and cost factors.

Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify project requirements.

Perform material take-offs, device counts, and labor calculations.

Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.

Conduct site visits when required.

Develop accurate estimates using electrical estimating software.

Prepare and present bid proposals, including assumptions, risks, and pricing strategies.

Submit and track quotations and project budgets.

Support project handover to the operations and project management teams.

Assist with contract administration and change order management.

Qualifications

Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certificate, 4th Year Electrical Apprentice, or Electrical Technologist Diploma.

Experience with electrical estimating software such as Accubid.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam.

Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), electrical construction methods, and system installation practices.

Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Previous hands-on experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction is considered an asset.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Effective relationship-building skills with customers, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Valid driver's license.
