Crafted Highlights
The Class 4 Shift Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all Utilities equipment including Steam boilers, Ammonia Compressors, Air compressors, CO2 recovery systems, wastewater. Also supporting brewery operations through troubleshooting and equipment optimization. Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself, team members, and the brewery is the top priority. You will monitor equipment performance using automated systems and visual inspection, perform regular performance checks, and identify opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency. This role follows a continental shift schedule with 12-hour shift including days and night.
What You’ll be Brewing
Ensures the safe operation of Utilities systems that supply steam, refrigeration, water, compressed air, wastewater management, and CO₂ collection for the brewery in accordance with safety regulations. Monitor the performance of the steam and condensate systems, including lines, valves, traps, heat exchangers, and pumps, to ensure consistent and efficient operation. Execute daily operational tasks and shift activities, including logging system data, adjusting controls, coordinating with contractors, and using the CMMS to document operational work. Collaborate with production and operations teams to support reliable performance of Utilities systems that interface with the brewing and packaging areas. Conduct routine operational checks throughout the brewery to verify system stability and identify issues before they impact production. Respond to operational issues promptly, taking action to minimize losses, inefficiencies, or downtime in Utilities systems.
Key Ingredients
Certified 4th Class Engineer (required) in the Province of British Columbia. Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends. Experience working with ammonia systems or in ammonia‑regulated environments is considered an asset.
