Position Summary
The Diversity Education Consultant will work collaboratively to provide leadership that supports improvement in student achievement and high school completion rates along with the provision of Indigenous cultural consultation and learning opportunities that align with curricular objectives.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
-
providing consultation supports that address anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion
-
developing and providing professional learning opportunities to Division staff that support the Teaching Quality Standard and Leadership Quality Standard

collecting, analyzing, reporting and acting on research-based strategies to support First Nations, Métis and Inuit education
-
maintaining or developing initiatives that support cultural learning opportunities
-
empowering students and families to become connected to their school community
-
facilitating the sharing of cultural knowledge and practices
-
creating and supporting the development and use of resources that assist with learning about First Nations, Métis and Inuit worldviews

monitoring and gathering data related to First Nations, Métis and Inuit matters

designing and initiating divisional support to schools supporting Division policy implementation
Education/Qualifications
-
undergraduate degree in a related field
-
minimum of three years related experience, preferably in an educational environment

a broad understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures
-
strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
experience engaging with diverse communities excellent consultation, collaboration and presentation skills
Rate of Pay
$52.52 - $67.17 per hour
