About the role
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Warehouse Operator to support material movement within our blast freezers and warehouse facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient product flow, proper inventory placement, and strict adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) protocols.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production, shipping, and order fulfillment while operating material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This position operates in a temperature-controlled environment, including freezer conditions.
This role is eligible for a wage progression: Starting rate is $21/hour, $22 at 6 months, $23 at 12 months and annual reviews thereafter. This role is also eligible for Group Insurance Benefits, a Company Performance Bonus, Discounted Pet Food, Employee Events, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move and store goods throughout the warehouse, including freezer and ambient zones
- Retrieve and return skids of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods from racking up to 25–30 ft high
- Maintain accurate stock rotation using FIFO practices
- Perform order picking, down-stocking, and replenishment as required
- Operate material handling equipment, including:
- Narrow aisle reach truck
- Power walkie
- Counterbalance forklift (as needed)
- Conduct daily equipment inspections (circle checks) to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Report equipment issues promptly to maintenance or supervisors
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with production and shipping teams to meet daily operational needs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of forklift and power walkie experience
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, including order picking and packing
- Valid forklift license (in-house certification considered an asset)Reach truck experience or license is an asset
- Ability to work in cold storage/freezer environments (-18°C)Ability to lift 30–5llbs on a regular basis
