About the role

And surrounded by 16+ services provided in 5 Cities across 350 + locations, there is no lack of expertise to draw upon. Starting with teams of dozens of Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists, you'll be joining the largest non-profit, charitable group of medical professionals in the province in serving the whole of the South Fraser, from White Rock and Delta, through Surrey to the two Langleys. WHO ARE YOU? You're devoted to the well-being and safety of children 0-6, so much so that you strive everyday for evidence based, best practice that works for the multiplicity of manifestations of ASD in your youngest clients - each child deserves your full and ongoing attention to evolve their function, fitness, friends, family and future. You bring a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field as a Behavioural Consultant OR a 2 Year Diploma plus GR 12/13 as a Behavioural Interventionist. WHO WE ARE Serving children with special needs and their families since 1953, we provide specialized pediatric medical rehabilitation services and supports to more than 3,200 children with special needs and their families through ~30,000 service sessions/yr in Surrey, South Surrey, White Rock, Delta, Langley and other areas of the Lower Mainland. Our newest program is "Sophie's Place" Child Advocacy Centre.
THE CENTRE FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT is a 'one stop shop' for children with special needs and their families through specialized paediatric psychologists, family service & parent support workers, key workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, early childhood educators, supported child development consultants & teachers, recreation specialists, technicians, a dietician and a Doctor specializing in developmental paediatrics.
SOPHIE'S PLACE is a child and youth advocacy centre focused on providing specialized services to physically and/or sexually abused children up to age 18 in a child-friendly setting. Sophie's Place is the result of significant collaboration between the Surrey RCMP, Ministry of Children and Family Development, City of Surrey, Ministry of Justice Victim Services and Crime Prevention, and The Centre for Child Development. Sophie's Place enables the collaborating agencies to respond to child abuse in a compassionate and highly integrated manner.
