About the role
Job Summary Provide support to pharmacists by preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting clients with medication pickup. Maintain accurate records and ensure a safe, organized pharmacy environment. Number of Positions 2 Main Duties Assist pharmacist in receiving, preparing, labeling and packaging prescriptions under supervision. Process prescription refills and customer orders, verify prescription information and patient details. Manage stock levels, conduct inventory counts, restock shelves and order supplies as needed. Operate point-of-sale systems, handle cash transactions and maintain accurate sales records. Maintain patient records, prepare documentation for billing and insurance-related processes while protecting privacy. Provide customer service by answering routine inquiries, offering basic medication information, and referring clinical questions to pharmacists. Requirements Secondary school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized pharmacy assistant program or equivalent practical experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting. Knowledge of basic pharmaceutical terminology and ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately. Experience using pharmacy management software, point-of-sale systems, or willingness to learn these systems. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with clear verbal and written communication. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, follow safety procedures, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Required Skills Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and record-keeping. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with pharmacy software and point-of-sale systems. Basic pharmaceutical calculations and numeracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Time management and organizational skills.
