The Opportunity
You bring a passion for enhancing the experience of students working in an experiential learning setting. You have a drive to have the best technical, procedural, and logistical daily operational support in the development and utilization of lab and simulation resources to students and faculty for the Faculty of Health Sciences programs. Your day will consist of overseeing and working in the Simulation Laboratories, Simulation Suites, Home Health Labs and Therapeutic Communication Suites. This role will be responsible for the effective operation of the Mary Gordon Health Sciences Centre for Experiential Learning. In addition to performing the responsibilities of the Experiential Learning Specialist, this role leads the coordination, development, training, and delivery of simulation–based educational activities. This role provides leadership to staff, collaborates with faculty and fosters a high-quality, student-centered learning environment within the Mary Gordon Health Sciences Centre for Experiential Learning (“the Centre”).

What It Takes
Bachelor’s degree in a health, technology, communication, business or other related field at a Canadian accredited, post-secondary institution; Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist ( CHSOS ) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator ( CHSE ) certification; Minimum five years of related work experience in a clinical health care or post-secondary health sciences simulation laboratory setting; Demonstrated supervisory skills including experience with recruitment, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, staff development, scheduling work, and performance management. Excellent working knowledge of lab and simulation settings, including operating a variety of simulation-based equipment, regulatory and professional standards, risk management and safety standards.
Additional Information
This regular, full-time position is available starting August 10, 2026. Hours of work will typically be scheduled Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00-3:30 or 3:30-4:00 or 7:45am-4:00 or 8:15-4:30pm. Scheduling will be determined at hiring. After the probationary period (if applicable), there may also be an option to work a modified schedule subject to the terms of the College’s policies, where you would work either 7:45am-4:00pm or 8:15am-4:30pm each day and have one day off every two weeks. There may also be a 9:45am-6:00pm shift added at a later date in the future. Shift days and times may change depending on operational need. Evening and occasional weekend work may be required. .
