About The Opportunity This is an opportunity to become an integral member of an established Commercial Real Estate practice supporting experienced lawyers on sophisticated transactions. About The Position Reporting to the Commercial Real Estate practice group, the Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk will provide comprehensive legal support throughout commercial property transactions from initial due diligence through closing and post-closing activities.
Responsibilities Conducting title and off-title searches and preparing comprehensive due diligence reports Reviewing Registry, Land Titles and Polaris records while resolving title issues and procedural matters Preparing requisitions, closing documentation, transaction books, final reports and related legal documentation Coordinating purchase, sale and financing transactions from inception through closing Managing portfolio transactions while liaising with lawyers, clients and external stakeholders Assisting with matter management, budgeting and electronic file management Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring exceptional client service throughout each transaction Building collaborative relationships with lawyers and contributing as an active member of the Commercial Real Estate team Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of direct Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk experience (5+ years preferred) Proven experience handling commercial real estate files independently, including due diligence, title searches, closings and financing transactions Strong knowledge of Registry, Land Titles and Polaris systems, including electronic registration and database filings Law Clerk Diploma, Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate, or equivalent education Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and high volumes of documentation Bilingual (French/English) language skills are considered an asset Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience Comprehensive health and wellness benefits effective immediately upon hire RRSP matching program beginning after three months, with employer contributions increasing over time Hybrid work model Generous vacation package and additional firm benefits Opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial real estate matters within one of Canada's leading national law firms Ongoing professional development and long-term career growth within an established national practice
