Principal: E.H. Walter School
Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a collaborative, student-centered leader to serve as Principal of E.H. Walter School beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.

School Profile
is a vibrant Kindergarten to Grade 12 school serving approximately 190 students in the rural community of The school offers comprehensive programming supported through Distance Learning and Lakeland CTS opportunities, with a strong focus on academics, student engagement, and extracurricular participation.
Staff work collaboratively to support student success within a welcoming school culture that values relationships, and community connection. The school features modern learning spaces and strong extracurricular and wellness facilities, including a full-sized gymnasium, fitness centre, instructional kitchen, and interactive classroom technology.
Leadership Profile
Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the successful candidate will:
- demonstrate strong instructional leadership with a commitment to student learning and well-being;
- foster a safe, caring, and inclusive school culture for students and staff;
- build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader community;
- support staff growth through collaboration, coaching, and shared leadership;
- lead school operations effectively through strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills;
- understand and value the unique strengths and opportunities of rural education; and
- demonstrate a willingness to be visible, involved, and engaged in both school and community life.

Located within driving distance of Lloydminster and Wainwright, the communities of Paradise Valley, McLaughlin, and Rivercourse form the closely connected “Three Cities” region. The area is known for its strong community spirit, agricultural roots, and support for youth, school activities, and recreation. Education/Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate;
- Meet the Leadership Quality Standard;
- Hold or eligible to complete Alberta's Leadership Certification;
- A Master's degree (or working towards one) in Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction would be considered an asset
